Traceability Workshop
This workshop gives an introduction to the processes required to create a comprehensive traceability system to trace raw materials through to finished product and finished product back to raw materials. Traceability is a legal requirement for all food businesses and an important step in being prepared in the event of a product recall.
Course content
- Explain the need for traceability and the consequences of getting it wrong.
- Describe the legal requirements for traceability.
- Demonstrate the practical application of forwards and backwards traceability including mass balance.
- Additional considerations when setting up traceability.
This course is aimed at businesses looking to set up traceability systems or, to provide staff involved in completing process paperwork an insight into traceability, its importance and practical application. The workshop will include activities to demonstrate forwards and backwards traceability exercises.
Attendance costs
Depending on your company size and eligibility, attendance at these workshops can be partially or fully funded.
The cost for each delegate attending the workshop will vary depending on the size of the company they work for. This is determined by Welsh Government funding regulations.
In the workshop registration form, you will be asked to provide company Subsidy Control information for the past three years and confirm the size of your company. Please refer to your finance business team to ensure this information is accurate as it may be subject to audit.
