Success story: Brew and Breathe
Background
Based in Cardiff, Brew and Breathe is a start-up producer of luxury handcrafted herbal teas. Their unique blends incorporate high quality, ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients that create sensory experiences which encourage people to slow down and reconnect.
Brew and Breathe is founded by Jenni Edwards, an entrepreneur with two decades of experience in ethical global supply chains, working to make business better for people and the planet.
As Jenni is not from a food safety background, she contacted ZERO2FIVE for support when she was in the process of developing her new range of teas.
Support from ZERO2FIVE
ZERO2FIVE’s technical experts provided one-to-one mentoring to support Brew and Breathe with the development of a bespoke HACCP food safety management plan for their range of herbal tea blends.
Brew and Breathe were supported with a risk assessment to identify potential food safety hazards and they were also helped to review their raw material specifications to make sure their ingredients were safe for use. Finally, Brew and Breathe were assisted with product labelling to ensure they complied with regulations.

Benefits of the support
Brew and Breathe received their environmental health inspection in September 2025 and they were delighted to receive a food hygiene rating score of five. As a result, the company has successfully registered as a food manufacturer with their local authority, and they can now start selling their products.
Brew and Breathe launched in October 2025 and will sell their teas direct to customers through their website as well as at local farmers markets.
Jenni Edwards, Founder, Brew and Breathe: “The support from ZERO2FIVE has been absolutely invaluable. As a new food business, it can feel daunting to get everything right, but their team made the process clear, practical, and confidence-building from start to finish. Their guidance not only helped us achieve our 5-star food hygiene rating but also set us up with strong foundations to grow sustainably.”
