Traceability Workshop

Please note – registration for this event is only available for new and existing food and drink manufacturers based in Wales, not for related organisations, consultants or students.

Who can attend

This course is aimed at businesses looking to set up traceability systems or, to provide staff involved in completing process paperwork an insight into traceability, its importance and practical application. The workshop will include activities to demonstrate forwards and backwards traceability exercises.

Traceability Workshop

Traceability is a legal requirement for all food businesses and an important step in being prepared in the event of a product recall.

This workshop gives an insight into the requirements of a comprehensive traceability system to trace raw materials through to finished products and finished products back to raw materials.

Course content

The workshop covers the following:

• The need for traceability and the consequences of getting it wrong
• The legal requirements for traceability
• The practical application of forwards and backwards traceability including mass balance
• Additional considerations for when setting up traceability

Attendance costs

Depending on your company size and eligibility, attendance at these workshops can be partially or fully funded.

The cost for each delegate attending the workshop will vary depending on the size of the company they work for. This is determined by Welsh Government funding regulations.

In the workshop registration form, you will be asked to provide company Subsidy Control information for the past three years and confirm the size of your company. Please refer to your finance business team to ensure this information is accurate as it may be subject to audit.
