New Product Development Workshop: Developing a Safe Product
Please note – registration for this event is only available for new and existing food and drink manufacturers based in Wales, not for related organisations, consultants or students.
Who can attend
Our series of New Product Development workshops are introductory level sessions which are targeted towards early-stage businesses and start-ups.
3. New Product Development – Developing a Safe Product
Food safety is integral for any food and drink manufacturing company, especially when launching new or re-developed products.
Join us at this workshop to uncover key food safety considerations that should be given to your product and process prior to launching, including:
• The importance of food safety hurdles and what they are
• An introduction to microbiology and shelf-life determination
• Chemical testing (i.e. water activity, pH)
• Nutritional testing
• Sensory and organoleptic assessment
• Allergen control and free-from testing
• Raw material sourcing and approval
• Process flow and hygienic design
This workshop is perfect for companies who are new to launching products and are not quite sure on the testing requirements for launching a product to market. It would also be suitable for those who want to develop their knowledge in the area, have a refresh and perhaps check they are following best practice guidance.
These interactive workshops will be held at ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre in Cardiff.
Whilst these workshops form a series, you can attend individual workshops to suit your business needs.
Attendance costs
Depending on your company size and eligibility, attendance at these workshops can be partially or fully funded.
The cost for each delegate attending the workshop will vary depending on the size of the company they work for. This is determined by Welsh Government funding regulations.
In the workshop registration form, you will be asked to provide company Subsidy Control information for the past three years and confirm the size of your company. Please refer to your finance business team to ensure this information is accurate as it may be subject to audit.
