Martin Sutherland

Commercial and Marketing Director

As Commercial and Marketing Director, Martin is responsible for the marketing team and the academic researchers in the ZERO2FIVE Food and Drink Research Group. Having worked in board-level marketing roles in the supermarket, manufacturing, and consultancy sectors, Martin has a broad and deep understanding of the commercial, marketing and policy aspects of the food industry.

Martin has led multi-functional teams to deliver first to market innovation including: UK supermarkets’ first dual-pricing loyalty scheme, first key fob loyalty card, over 1000 food and drink product launches, UK’s first product placement in a computer game, and the jokes on McVitie’s Penguin wrappers.

Martin is the Volunteer Chair of Monmouthshire Food Partnership, which is part of the Sustainable Food Partnership network.
