Success Story: Usk Valley Cheese Company
Background
Based in Newport, Usk Valley Cheese Company are an artisanal cheese producer that was established in 2025. The company crafts semi-hard cheeses that celebrate the local history, flavours, and traditions of the Usk Valley.
In a short space of time, the company has picked up a Gold Award in the New Cheese Category at the British Cheese Awards 2025 for their Six Peaks, garlic and mixed herbs infused cheese.
Usk Valley Cheese Company has worked with the cheese experts at Food Centre Wales to help develop their recipes and manufacture their products and they are now in the process of moving into their own dedicated production facility.
The company contacted ZERO2FIVE when they were looking develop a range of biscuits and breads incorporating their cheese that could be sold at food festivals alongside their existing products.

ZERO2FIVE’s bakery team developed a range of different breads, biscuits and crackers that were presented back to the company to gather feedback and further development ideas.
Products developed included garlic and cheese spelt crackers; cheese breadsticks; and corn and cheese soda bread.

Whilst the company does not have their own bakery facility, ZERO2FIVE has put them in touch with potential manufacturers who could produce products on their behalf.
