Most food and drink companies will at some time have ingredients, packaging and consumables that they don’t plan to use. Disposing of these items can be expensive and can sometimes harm the environment.
ZERO2FIVE is looking into creating a website and process to help businesses find a (profitable) home for their excess ingredients, packaging, consumables and finished products. We are still at the initial planning stages and the likely solution will be:
- ZERO2FIVE will manage a website and process which will enable registered users to:
- List ingredients, consumables and packaging that they want to dispose of
- Receive notifications of new listings
- Search the website for ingredients, consumables and packaging that they may want to buy
- The parties involved in the transaction will be responsible for specifications, food safety compliance and payment
- It will potentially involve food redistribution charities
- There will be no charge for companies to register
