ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre is dedicated to supporting food and drink businesses.
ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre is part of Cardiff Metropolitan University. It combines technical expertise, insight and research to help build more innovative, resilient and successful food businesses.
Support services offered to businesses include food safety certification, new product development, market insights, packaging, sensory evaluation, product reformulation, process efficiency and waste reduction.
Through its technical, professional and academic expertise, ZERO2FIVE has built an international reputation as a centre of excellence in these fields.
These services help businesses to start-up and grow, break into new markets, cut their carbon emissions and ensure they’re meeting the highest standards of food safety. Many of these services are financially supported for businesses by the Welsh Government under its flagship Project HELIX programme.
The state-of-the-art facilities within ZERO2FIVE are available for use by businesses. These include a consumer sensory suite, four distinct food processing areas, a development kitchen and a consumer observation kitchen.
ZERO2FIVE sits at the heart of the food and drink industry in Wales – as a trusted partner for government, as an advisor at CEO level across the industry and as a driver of knowledge transfer between the University and business.
Food safety is our top priority, and that’s why we’re called ZERO2FIVE because 0 to 5°C is the safe operating temperature for a refrigerator.

ZERO2FIVE is proud to be part of Food Innovation Wales
